At PureRoots Baby, the safety of your baby is our highest priority. Every product we sell has been carefully selected for its safety profile, ingredient quality, and suitability for infant skin. This page provides important guidance on the safe selection and use of our products.

1. Age Suitability

All products sold by PureRoots Baby are formulated for infant and baby skin. The following age guidance applies across all five brands in our store:

•       All products in our store are safe for use from birth unless otherwise stated on the individual product page

•       The Aromababy Aroma-Free range is specifically recommended by neonatal experts as the safest option for newborns in the first weeks of life

•       MooGoo's baby range offers nut-oil free formulas, making them suitable for infants with known or suspected nut allergies

•       QV Baby products are paediatrician-recommended and specifically developed for babies with eczema-prone, dry, or highly sensitive skin

•       Weleda's White Mallow range is formulated for hypersensitive skin and is suitable from birth

•       GAIA Skin Naturals' full baby range is dermatologically tested and paediatrician-approved for use from birth

Always check the individual product label and description for age-specific guidance. If in doubt, consult your paediatrician or healthcare professional before use.

2. Patch Testing

We strongly recommend performing a patch test before first use of any new product, particularly for babies with known skin sensitivities, eczema, dermatitis, or a history of allergic reactions.

How to perform a patch test:

•       Apply a small amount of the product (approximately 5 cent piece size) to a discrete area of your baby's skin — the inner wrist or behind the ear are ideal

•       Leave the product on the skin for 24 hours without washing

•       Monitor the area for any signs of redness, itching, swelling, or irritation

•       If no reaction occurs after 24 hours, the product is likely suitable for your baby

•       If any irritation, redness, or reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately, wash the area gently with water, and consult your healthcare professional

Patch testing is especially important when introducing any new product, even if it is certified organic or has been recommended by a healthcare professional.

3. Ingredient Transparency

PureRoots Baby is committed to full ingredient transparency across all brands. We believe parents have the right to know exactly what they are applying to their baby's skin.

•       Full ingredient lists (INCI format) are available on every individual product page on our website

•       All five brands in our store are free from parabens, sulphates (SLS/SLES), synthetic fragrances, mineral oils, petrochemicals, and other known harmful ingredients

•       Certified organic ingredients are clearly identified on product labels and descriptions

•       MooGoo uses exclusively natural and edible-grade ingredients — a unique standard in the industry

•       Weleda products are 100% NATRUE certified natural, guaranteeing no synthetic ingredients

4. Safe Storage & Handling

•       Store all products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat

•       Keep all products out of reach of children — while MooGoo uses edible-grade ingredients, products are not intended for consumption

•       Do not use products past their expiry or 'best before' date — check the bottom of the product for the PAO (period after opening) symbol

•       Always close lids and caps tightly after use to prevent contamination

•       Do not add water to product containers as this can introduce bacteria

•       If a product changes colour, smell, or texture, discontinue use and contact us

6. When to Seek Medical Advice

While our products are designed to be gentle and safe, we always recommend consulting a healthcare professional in the following situations:

•       Your baby has a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any ingredient

•       Your baby has a skin condition such as eczema, psoriasis, cradle cap, or nappy rash that is not improving

•       Your baby develops any rash, redness, swelling, or unusual skin reaction after using any product

•       You are unsure which product is appropriate for your baby's specific skin type or condition
